I've seen it done on Youtube....I've read about it online...I've tried different converter cables and screens....but everytime I try to convert to LED, I have to shine a light on the screen to see the content.

I asked someone online about a video they posted on Youtube that they did an Acer CCFL to LED screen replacement and he told me to get a CHI MEI N156BGE-L11 screen. I'm in the process of doing that now.

What could be causing the LED backlight NOT to power up?

Thank you for all your help.

Can you explain how you are doing, have you changed the inverter to a converter, I have checked the list from lcd parts.net but your model missing, if you send them a request, they might build a custom converter for you. You don't need a new screen, you can replace the CCFL bulb with the LED strip and the converter(which replaces the stock inverter).

I'm actually not wanting to go that route because I accidentally broke the bottom part of the plastic screen frame trying to replace the CCFL bulb.

I'm looking for a converter cable + LED screen combination that would work with this laptop.
