Been reading the forums alot. Love the website.
Anywho, I have this new suprising problem with my acer. I am having trouble starting the laptop up. When i Turn the laptop on, I can see all the necessary light turn on: power light, hard drive light and can hear the laptop fan turn on, BUT, my screen does not turn on, nor do I suspect windows is loading up.
Its been really frustrating. I am a university student, when i go to my lectures my laptop never seems to turn on. I have been able to turn it on but that only happens with Ive been trying for 2+ hrs. Once i can turn it its perfect, no problems. If I turn if off and immediately turn it back on its works perfectly. The problem starts again say i start my laptop after a 30-45 min, i get the same response, screen wont turn on.
I have updated to the latest ATI Omega drivers. They seemed to have had work, but i was wrong.
Is there any solution?
My Specs:
Intel M 2.0Ghz
Windows XP home
1 GB Ram
X1300 256mb ram

Try hooking it to an external monitor to see if it works. That will tell you if it is the screen itself or something else.

Ok.. will get to u on that

nope. im getting the same issue. If I connect an external monitor to the laptop, I was not able to turn the laptop on. It took me several tries for 20 mins to get the laptop running.
what now?
Edit: i was running my laptop with the external monitor, was surfin the web and then all of a sudden with in 5 secs, all my programs shutdown, blue screen of death, laptop restarts and now is get a msg, softwares not running, HALs and Dlls missing

is there any solution for this issue.
Im thinking of taking it to best buy and see what they say, or should my hand on contacting acer support again...they've been ignoring me whenever i try to contact them via email.. -
Issue has been resolved.
I called up acer support, explained the situation. They explained that this happends due to a static charge that doesnt allow the laptop to be turned on.
To fix this issue, they made me remove the battery pack, laptop is not connected to ac power. Hold down the power button for 1 min and it will or should clear the problem. Did that and that solved the problem.
Hope this information will help other with the same or similar issue
