I purchaced an Acer Aspire 5517 in October, 2009 and I have a question. Once every week or so my amber battery charging light comes on and my battery charge gadget says that my battery has a 98% charge. After a few minutes the battery charge light returns to blue and the battery charge gadget once again says 100%. My question is this: Since the laptop was plugged in the whole time with no current interruptions is this normal or is something wrong?

I think its normal, but if you leave it plugged in a lot you should take out your battery and run just through AC

NO NO NO Don't do this. on a laptop / notebook your battery acts as a UPS. if power in the AC mains goes down or spikes as it normally does the battery keeps power stable and protects from spikes and voltage drops. as far as the battery dropped a tad and recharged this is normal from time to time. i seen it on my old compaq presiro and once on this acer 5517 laptop. as long as it recharged i would not be concerned.
