Hello,
I want to disable the wireless lan from connecting to the internet every time I reboot the computer. It is driving me nuts with all the securutiy connections and I think it makes my laptop crash, because it is trying to do stuff.... Actually I have no idea, I just dont want to have to push the disable wireless lan connection every time I reboot. I would like to push the button to connect to wireless lan if I so choose to do so.

you could disable the wireless antennae from the device manager...just a thought

Dear Flaxmac,
If you have an Intel Wireless Adapter, you can download the Intel ProSet Wireless drivers (from Intel download site, aprox 30MB). They offer you an option to disable the wi-fi adapter via software (one click), and it don´t activate itself again until you re-enable it manually.
I personally use it cause that issue drives me crazy just like you.
Kind Regards and Good Luck -
Thanks Elbubi,
How do I tell if I have the Intel Wireless Adapter? -
Go to "Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager", and check there what brand of wireless adapter you do have
.
If it is Intel´s one, you can apply the solution I gave you, if it´s Atheros I don´t have a clue how to solve it
Kind Regards and good luck, and please let us know if it worked. -
Easier way.
Do it through Acer's eMpowering Technology. Has (and still) works for me.
Should I really bother to try and explain it again though???
Empowering Technology is perceived by many to be a waste of time.
Been there and argued it's merits many times before. Most folks know better though.
Another useless post from me. Because nobody really listens anyway.
Pointless trying to help here. Enjoy NBR.
Cheers and bye
