I was wondering where can I get the stock BIOS for this system since I made a mistake by upgrading it to 1.32, the stock (factory default) version is 1.08, anyone know where I can get it. Thanks in advanced for your response.

Did you not make a backup of the stock BIOS, when flashing it with the new one using WinPHLash..??
-
Yes I did but my Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC deleted the backup and WinPhlash from my temp Windows folder so I can't restore it anymore. Any ideas where I can get it. I just need a backup from someone that has the same laptop as me.
-
Nope, I can't find 1.08 anywhere, just 1.07, 1.11 etc..

You could ask the guys from this thread: Acer Aspire 5520 Bios . The thread is like 4 months old and maybe they don't have their backups anymore but I'd PM everyone and ask if I were you..

Thanks a bunch, really appreciate it.

i've been dying to ask why you need the BIOS that shipped w/ your laptop...
i've noticed w/ my model of Aspire... Acer ships the laptops with different versions of the BIOS... it all depends on when the laptop was assembled.. and there seems to be no "STOCK BIOS" -
Well it's because I've been having problems with the current BIOS version that i updated it to which is 1.32, I want to restore it back to the default BIOS that it had when I first got it. When I first got it it came with 1.08, I'm looking through the internet with the same system so if they would be so kind enough to do me the favor and give me a backup of there system BIOS, that is if they didn't update it like me.

i noticed a 1.33 version of the BIOS... have you tried that??

what kind of problems are you having?? -
Well the only noticable issue I'm having is that my USB ports don't work. I connect any USB device like my external HDD or flash drive and it works and it starts auto play. But then after a couple of seconds it turns off the device so I'm guessing the computer turns off the USB ports. I installed Windows XP and still the same issue and with drivers up to date. Same thing goes for Windows Vista. I'm talking about the USB ports on the right side, the ones that are close to the DVD Burner. The other 2 USB ports work, this started happening ever since I upgraded my BIOS. Yes I've tried 1.33 and still the same issue.

have you tried the older versions that ARE available? like 1.07 or 1.11??
if you still have the problems after changing the BIOS to an old version... then i would be hesitant to blame the problem on the BIOS... and since you have tried both XP and VISTA it's not going to be a "software" problem...
that points to either "hardware" or "BIOS" issues.... and if the problem persists despite the different BIOS versions then it's probably not going to be a BIOS ISSUE... which makes me think that either the mainboard or USB accessory board (if used in your model) is MOST LIKELY the root of your issues..
hope that helps...
it may be time to contact ACER.... don't mention the BIOS CHANGES or the OS CHANGES...
DONT GIVE THEM A REASON TO BE ABLE TO TRY TO VOID YOUR WARRANTY...
just COMPLAIN ABOUT THE USB PORTS WHICH HAVE QUIT WORKING PROPERLY..
and backup or burn your DATA to DVDs before sending back,,, just incase
