okay, so I just got this brand new Acer Aspire 5534 notebook (laptop) a few days ago. The wireless has been working just fine and all the systems are functioning as well. last night when i turned on my laptop and went onto the internet the screen on the webpages were flashing violently. The flashing is worse when i move my cursor, type, or if the page loads. Some sites like Facebook and google the flashing gets worse while im on them. I have tried changing my battery settings, uploading "drivers" and updates, and disconnecting my wireless. I know that the problem doesn't lie in my wireless network itself since the problem occurs no matter what wireless network im using. my LAN communication network indicator is flashing orange. I have heard that this means that the wireless is connecting with my laptop incorectly or sending "traffic" or something. I am assuming that maybe the problem is with the way my computer is recieving wireless or something realating to that since i can be on any network and the orange LAN light flashes and the screen flashes too. I just got this computer and really hope that I dont have to return it. please help!

    Thanks, Taylor

Wow, I also just recently purched an Acer Aspire 5534 notebook this month. I've actually only had it for a week. I didn't seem to have any problems with it the first few days I used it online but like on the fourth day of my using it to search the web my screen also started flashing violently. The flashing increased every time I would type something or move my pointer on the touch pad. I thought it was because I didn't have my charger connected but then the next time I used it I made sure the batter was fully charged and that my charger was also connected. I had the same problems again. This time when I logged out of Internet Explorer and was on my Desktop, the flashing continued for a while. Bizzare.

I wonder what is causing this problem. It doesn't happen everytime I'm online, it happens every now and then. Just like now as I'm typing it's flashing. I use a wireless public network. -- I also hope I don't have to return it. Maybe I will.

'Mean machine' is absolutely correct! Go to the Acer website, support, download drivers, and look for the 5534 model. Make sure you are downloading the correct and most recent driver for your operating system. In my case, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. You will have no more screen flashing in I.E. and your Win 7 Gadgets will all work correctly. It will also smooth out your streaming video. This is a great laptop for the money which has gotten a bad rap for a simple driver issue. Considering that Windows 7 Op. Sys. was just released a few months ago, it is not surprising their are going to be a few machine specific problems.
