Ok, I'm not sure if this question is really computer specific, but I have had my Acer Aspire 5535 for around a year and a half now, and lately I have noticed that my battery life icon isn't changing.
It is stuck at a plugged in and fully charged icon, even when it is unplugged, and even when it is running alone on battery and about to die- it doesn't tell me by scrolling over it or in the visual indicator how much battery life I have left.

I've found that using my empowering technology button to view my battery life works- but other than that- the icon in the task bar does nothing. It's been stuck at a 'plugged in and fully charged' icon for a few days now, and doesn't show anything when I scroll over it either.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it? Am I stuck with checking my empowering technology bar to see my battery life or can I fix the one in the task bar area?? Was it me or just the computer? (Even when I click on that icon it doesn't let me go to my battery settings anymore..)

It looks like it's Windows issue- probably something got messed up in the registry.
Reinstalling Windows would most likely make it go away. I'd try to ignore it until time comes to reinstall for more important reasons.
