Anyone have the SATA drivers for windows xp? Can't find them anywhere and acer support is such a joke ..... And no I don't want to use subpar IDE.

If the drivers are not offered directly, then you might check the support area of the storage controller manufacturer.
Sometimes these drivers are "buried" in another, larger driver package. This is what you need to find out.
Apart from that, if there is any advantage of AHCI over IDE mode, then it might be measurable in some benchmarks, but in real world application you won't notice a significant difference.

Incase of anyone searchs for this,
See this thread Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP - MSFN Forum - Page 6 and the download link for the latest http://www.esnips.com/doc/625d825b-...de-driver-v3.2.1548.37-for-XP-mod-by-Fernando .
Acer really are a pile of and AMD are not much better at not supplying proper ACHI drivers or docs, I miss my nForce. Thank god for the 2 guys at MSFN ripping amd ACHI drivers from Asus drivers and testing them on different SB's. -
Maintaining up to date lists and information is the sort of thing computers should make simple. What is wrong with these companies? -
Will never buy Acer or HP again, Sony next.

Hmmm, I've stuck to my "never Sony again" for many years now. I can't remember the model number but "support", who were actually very helpful went away, tried what I was saying and said "Yes it does it here too". Gave me a phone number to report it and I ended up, after a huge loop of dead ends, back with "support". And just try getting parts or updates.
Up till the last one, a cheap G550, I've been happy with Lenovo. The G550 is visibly down to a price.
