    Hi,

    I've just bought an Acer Aspire 5552g and before I call customer support, I wondered if the behaviour higlighted in my thread title is normal for win 7 and / or Acer laptops.

    I've noticed that if I put a game DVD into the drive, that it won't start reading and whirring until I click on the drive icon and that the drive will still show the disc is still in the drive with associated icon art when I take it out and will do so until I close the my computer window and reopen it again. I've also just noticed that sometimes the disc icon picture for that disc (e.g. a book for civ 4) won't display, just displaying a generic icon.

    Minor niggles, but just something i'm concerned about, being someone coming from a 9 year old XP desktop and little experience of Win 7.
