    Acer Aspire 5583WXMi XP boot up

    Good Day!
    i need to install a software but it won't run in VISTA, so i've decided to bought a new hard drive and install windows XP SP2, i can only boot in "SAFEMODE", but for "NORMAL" boot up,it always stop/hang...
    Note: my laptop is bundle with win VISTA Home Premium...
    Does the bios version affect the windows XP boot up?
    any help i would appreciate..

    Have you installed only XP on the new HDD?

    i just bought it from a friend(secongd hand hard drive), but i quick format it to NTFS....
    Should I format it again in a slow long format style?

    To sum up:
    1- You removed the original HDD and replaced it with the one you bought.
    2- You formatted the HDD you bought.
    3- You installed XP on the HDD you bought.
    Is this right?

    I boot in debug mode and find out that the ntoskrnl.dll is corrupted so i just reinstall win XP....
