    Acer Aspire 5610 Shuts down

    Have windows 7 installed for past 5 months just recently only when playing poker on facebook the computer will shut down on its own, could this be a Ram isuue, I tried restoring the computer to 2 weeks prior to the issue, but no help. anyone else having this issue?

    Have you checked the temperatures,if not try Hardware monitor or similar utilities to find whether your laptop overheats. Then you can clean the heatsink fan with compressed air and see whether it helps.

    I am noticing that my fan does not change in speed as it used to, does it need replacing how do I determine temps or functionality of fan?

    You can monitor the Temperature with HW Monitor,Speedfan or CoreTemp. Google for them and download.

    Wanted to update anyone with like issues, I opened the access panel to fan and found quite an accumulation of dust between fan exhaust and grill fins, removed dust, downloaded HW monitor as Ellalan suggested, so far no issues, had been shutting down 3-4 times a day, will give it a few more days and let you all know, core temps so far max at 52 c ACPI temps max at 56 c will follow up.. thanks for insite guys.
