    Hi guys,

Need your help with my screen problem.

Screen on the notebook no longer works, when turning on the computer, screen comes on blank/grey and starts to fade away leaving dark lines across the screen.
Plugging in external monitor works fine.
Have tried replacing LCD, same issue.
    Backlight works.
Don't *think* it's the cable as wiggling doesn't affect the display. (technical terms)
Don't think it's the GPU as external works.

Also, when the external is plugged in from boot up, nothing happens on the laptop screen at all.

Any more ideas? I'm running out of things to try....

    Thanks in advance!

    Simon

could be bad cable, bent pins on the mainboard where the cable plugs in, incompatible display, or blown traces on the mainboard LVDS connector.
