I recently downloaded and installed numerous updates from the Microsoft update site for my Aspire 5610Z (T2060, WinVista HP, 1gb, 110gb HD) notebook, including an update for the Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset Family (ver 7.14.10.1322 dated 8/24/2007). The notebook had not been online for several months.

After installing all the updates the notebook will not displays at 1280 x 800, but can only do up to 1024 x 768. And when I check in device manager the Display adapter shows - This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (Code 12).

I also get – This device can not start (Code 10) for the following - Cirrus Logic PCIC Compatible PCMICA controller; isatap.(5CD43EL3-37CA-4D9B-8B15-75420861187B); isatap(ACBC451B-5183-4E1A-89AF-4DE9CD64F59A); AverMedia TV Tuner Card M156 (PCI, Pal/SECAM/FM); and, VideoMate TV SAA7130 Capture Device. I disabled the last two devices and did a reinstall of the Intel 945 update, but it didn’t help.

I assumed the MS Intel download caused my problem, but the rollback button was grayed out in Device Manage. So I downloaded the Intel VGA driver 7.14.10.1132 from the Acer support site. It will not complete the install process on restart and neither will the Intel driver from the eRecovery folder 7.14.10.1114 (resource problem). Also, the System Restore function would not work and now, by installing/attempting to install, so many updates, it is beyond the pre-update version.

I have sent an email to Acer Support, but I have not received a response.

Has anyone experienced this issue before?

    Thanks,
    Mack

I fixed the problem by getting and installing the Recovery CD from Acer.
