Why is it that there are so many variations of the acer aspire 5610z? It's been very difficult for me to find any information on my specific model: 5610-2998
-I am not happy that it comes with a bluetooth button on the front yet no blue tooth module installed. I found the module and install instructions on ebay and you have to disassemble everything to install it internally including the laptop motherboard. What a pain!
-There's no firewire...I thought that was a standard component of current systems...
-Windows XP produces a black screen before you get the part that says hit F6 to load 3rd party mass storage drivers. I can't get XP on this laptop yet.
-The intel video drivers for vista suck, especially when using an external monitor. It doesn't let you close the laptop lid and use the external monitor plugged in.
Basically what I'd like to know is how to install XP on this? I've tried injecting drivers into the XP install cd with nlite but had no luck. I read a post on here about WXGA monitor drivers needing to be installed...perhaps that's what I need to make it through the xp installation? I've wasted more time than it was worth trying to get this to run. I should've spent more on a better quality one.

Since my last post I've reported about my video related issues I mentioned previously in this ACER Build Quality thread along with other various acer 5610z notebook issues.
Please, post a solution to getting XP working on the Acer Aspire 5610z (5610-2998) if you can get it to work. Thanks!
