My sound worked without any problem for roughly a year and then yesterday the speakers stopped working totally. If I click the volume control icon in the system tray the right speaker makes a "click" sound, but nothing else happens. I have the latest vista realtek audio drivers.

I didn't install, uninstall any new software or hardware, no new windows updates, no change at all overnight, apart from that the laptop was turned off for a few hours.

I've tried searching other forums etc for solutions and it seems like loads of people had issues with their sound suddenly not working properly with Acer notebooks.

Has anyone had this issue or one like it? I just want my sound to work again.

    Thanks for any help.
