    Hi,

I got a Acer Aspire 5630 laptop and have been using it for a few years and would call myself a advance user, however recently my laptop every morning crashes and changes the BIOS password and then have to wait for a while then once I reflash the BIOS it works again.

I tried running rootkit software along with other virus check, none dectected, this has left me confused can someone please advise?

why do you need the bios passworded
i never see the need to set that

maybe the CMOS battery is failing

No i dont have a password, once the laptop crashes it automatically puts a password on (confused) thought it could be the battery?

    I second that.

Yes, the coin cell somewhere on the motherboard. Unfortunately, this battery isn't easy to replace

ANYTHING can happen if there is not enough power.
But admitted, this password stuff should not happen at all

This would be a very special virus made to attack the few acer laptops to render them useless
But why do you allow malware to be executed on your computer?

Were you able to fix the issue? My aspire 5630 is acting very strange also. The laptop would all of a sudden start typing garbage. When i run a virus checker it found some virus that I deleted. Then I formatted the OS partition and reinstalled it. That didn't seem to fix the ghost typing in Windows and the beeping sound coming up when I turn on the computer.
