    Hi,

Just recently bought a new Acer Aspire 5633WLMi and i'd like to install the OS (Windows Vista) fresh with my Windows Vista Home Premium OEM Disk, would everything go fine installing it on the C:\ partition? (there another DATA one and then a hidden recovery partition).

Also, would it effect using the recovery partition in the future?

Edit, oh yeh, were's the best place to get the required drivers? is there a acer site containing them?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Installing your own version of windows would prevent the recovery partition from funtioning because windows would put its own MBR onto the hard drive; acer use a custom MBR to allow them to access the hidden partiton for performing a recovery. Performing a backup of the original acer partition (the c:\ drive also needs to be labelled Acer in order for the disk to disk funtion to work) with a tool that lets you restore the MBR only is a good way of getting around this issue as long as the versions of windows are the same or similar.

drivers can be found here although 64-bit drivers are a bit hit-and-miss http://support.acer-euro.com/
