Hi I just bought a Acer Aspire 5670, and it came with so much bloatware.

I mean I turn the laptop on and I have 65 processes running. Do I really need all this?

Can I reformat someway where all I have is windows xp and the necessary drivers?

The laptop came with windows XP.

And I don't know what COA is :(

I'm just really annoyed right now, brand new laptop 65 processes....and I have no idea which programs to remove.

My desktop only has 26 processes so seeing so much processes running is freaking me out.

    The laptop came with SP1.

The laptop didn't come with any disks, but told me to make a erecovery disc or w/e (I don't want to use the disc because I know if I use that disc to reformat I'll have all the same bloatware again).

I have a seperate windows XP disc (sp1) that I've used for my desktop, and I'm wanting to use it on my laptop, but I don't know how I'll update all the drivers. I don't even know what drivers to update.

I'm a huge noob at this.

Thanks, I'll use my windows xp disc to reformat now.

I took a look at that list, do you know what drivers i'd need because that list is pretty big lol. Unless i'd need all of them.

Just make sure you install the same windows with the same SP, or the serial key wont work..!! It should get activated once you connect to the internet from the MS activation screen....
    Good Luck.. :)

IF you laptop came with xp pro or xp home slipstream sp3 will work fine if it came with media center have,nt tested slipstreaming

media center is xp pro source and wound need xp pro media center disk they two of them

The service pack leval does not matter as long it oem version you shound slipstream sp3 into you cd that way you have alot less update after installed

also for video drivers you want to check out ati mobilty modder and use the ati driver for ati.com use they desktop one and run them thought mobilty moder to turn into mobile version

    http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/Slipstreaming_Windows_XP_Service_Pack_3.html

also if you don,nt want to have reactivated it save the wpa.dbl and restore after and use the oem preinstall key that came with you can get it useing viewcdkey xp
