Can anyone help or point in the right direction as to how I can dismantle my 5672?
I am thinking of replacing the slot loading DVD drive since it has been giving me a lot of trouble but I do not know where to begin to remove the optical drive. It seems it is bolted in there somehow and I cannot locate the screws/bracket.

hi you can easily find service manual on the net for less than 7$ otherwise you can find free service manual that can give you some guidance to start the dismantle.

    1. SAFETY FIRST: Remove your battery and unplug from power.
    2. Find the 'rear 3 screws' near the DVI and Ethernet port, and unscrew those.
    3. Open the lid and pull off the 'Hinge Cover', which is the strip of plastic holding the power / email / internet buttons, the hinge cap and the top over of the keyboard (the vertical strip of plastic above Esc and Del)
    4. Unscrew the keyboard screws. and flip open the keyboad. Detach the keyboard data line. The only screw on the left is the one securing the DVD drive I think.

There was a guide uploaded by someone about 2 months ago, though I've forgot where the link is.
