I also bought an Acer Aspire 5733Z-4851 in Walmart during July. It has being working pretty well. The only problem that I had is that recently (like 2 weeks ago) my Laptop isn't recognizing the SuperMulti DVD Double-Layer Drive so I can't do data discs nor watch movies. I checked Acer website but I haven't found help. Did you know what could be happening to my laptop?

I notice on mine the audio skips or buzzes for a second at random times when playing music or videos or windows sounds. so far no driver updates. it's real annoying. and i have problems with audio distortion when playing videos even unedited videos from my camcorder and also with music or videos using a equalizer. i don't know if the audio card suck or if it's a driver issue. i have been putting off calling acer because i don't want to do a reformat and tech support at pc companies always wants everyone to do a restore/reformat.

Go to sounds, playback devices, click the Audio Device and Properties, try changing Enhancements and see whether it makes any difference.

I wonder why? So I guess yours must be better then. Do you have any sound issues like mine? I think there's a bottleneck on the motherboard and when i am doing something that uses the hard drive when listening to music or a show, the audio buzzes or stutters for a second. last night it was real bad. I keep thinking it has something to do with the IO ports. but not real sure. the CPU isn't over working when this happens. my older desktop with a slower processor doesn't ever do this.

I know realtek just realeased a new driver for the hd audio on these... mabye try to update to that. Could also be the media player your using, my windows media player on my other laptop got corrupt and would do some funny things. I would suggest trying to use gom media player if you think this might be your problem.

I already tried updating it. also it happens with windows sounds too and all players and youtube videos. it's random. maybe once in 10 minutes i hear the glitch and other times it's almost every song. That includes Itunes. I also use GOM player, Zoom Player, MPC-HC, and Media Monkey. Even the POS Compaq CQ56 did a better job at playing sound then this.
