Hi,
I recently got an Acer Aspire 5735 laptop which had the dreaded Vista Virus installed on it. After about an hour i got fed up with it wiped it and loaded XP onto it. Obviously i made an image before i wiped it!
Anyhoo, Xp was loaded onto it without any qualms or so i thought. I left the laptop for about an hour or so while it was still powered on. It went to sleep as any normal laptop would do. When i tried to resume/ wake it up, it wouldn't come back on. Ctrl Alt Delete wouldn't wake it up. Moving the mousepad or pressing any other key could not wake it from it's slumber. I had to resort to holding in the power button till it shut off. On power up i checked the Power Settings in Control Panel. All looked normal. I compared it to another laptop, my trusty toshiba running XP, and compared settings. The Toshiba went to sleep and i was able to wake it up via ctrl alt del! But still the Acer would not wake!
Anybody had this problem or perhaps can offer me any suggestions?
Cordially,
Daithi (Irish for David)
PS: Apologies to anyone out there who is a fan of Vista. Apparently my buddy says the 64 Bit Ultimate version is quite good. But he has it running on a Mac. Go Figure!![]()

Hi. I have recently purchased the aspire 5735. with vista home premium. I can't start it up. I press the power button and I get the green light coming on for a few seconds then nothing else. No fans. No disks. No display. Any help? I've tried with battery only, cable only, and both. The battery is fully charged so I doubt its anything to do with the battery. Am I missing something simple or should I just take it back to pc world?

Finally took it back to pcworld. They sent it for repair. The motherboard was goosed. Thanks
