Hello, so i just got this notebook listed on the title right? Mostly everything works perfectly. Except apparently i have to update my Drivers for the Intel(R) GMA Driver for Mobile. So i look at the Intel website no drivers found, or ones that needed updates.. So Ive been told that in some cases for laptops you must go to the computer manufacturers website and find the drivers there, this website being Acer. But it seems there is no trace for Aspire 5735-4624 Drivers ANYWHERE. I think the laptop is fairly new but there has to be SOME drivers somewhere right? I am not sure if this is a problem for any other people out there, or i am just not looking hard enough? But any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Why do you have to update the driver? If you have windows update running, it should download the most up to date signed WHQL drivers automatically.

It uses the gl40 chipset, so go to Intel site and download the drivers for the right chipset. downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2991&lang=eng

I actually emailed Acer and questioned why they don't have support for this specific model and they replied that the model is for Best Buy and all support needs to be directed to the store. I was specific with what I wanted which was typical bios, driver and support on the main Acer support page too. Maybe I will try them again

ok paten maybe you dont have that much experience with drivers but sometimes when you update or change os in the new install drivers get lost and the manufacture driver that was preloaded in the os is just not there anymore thats y every manufacture has its own setup and drivers that some times microsoft do not support with the windows update feature by request of the manufacture and yes bestbuy in an agretment with some manufactures has done this so that buyers have to come back for support to the store ones the warranty is done the affer extended warranties and cervices its just plain wrong but its ok we will always have ppl helping in the forums i included a link with all the drivers for that model under vista i hope u got it

I understand drivers just fine. He didn't say he had changed the OS. He is still using Vista Home Premium. Why don't you let him answer since you don't know what his problem is and are simply guessing?

Nope.. Havent changed the OS, Left it how it was right out of the box. It just seems finding drivers for this thing is nearly impossible. Even with Windows Automatic Updates it would seem i am still missing video drivers? So if automatic updates couldnt find them, they are non-existant?

Adam, i guess it is pretty strange that that wouldnt have this specific model in the company website that made it. Thanks for looking into that.

what do u mean by missing video drivers? is you display working good or not? can u change settings? or you just looking at the drivers dates and think the should be updated? i dont get u man and like i said the automatic update may not have your drivers as the laptop model is new and not yet supported by the ms update,
and paten i`m not gessing if you just got a laptop y would you get a lappy thats missing drivers and is not working well so i thought he might lost the driver trinying to update or something thats y i said the that happens a lot while changing os or updating drivers u see
