    Hey.

I have an Acer Aspire 5736Z laptop, it cut out on me yesterday, i did start up repair but it is telling me that i need the boot disks, which i have not got. After calling up Acer and finding out these disks are £57 im not too keen on buying them, however, i do need to get my laptop back ASAP.

Do you know a download link where i can get the files, i need, burn onto a disk?

It would be a great help, and save me £57

Im running OS: Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Thanks.

    Josh

you don't need the disk if your laptop came with a windows copy pre installed just hit alt + f10 while booting to boot from the recovery partition ... & take care that process will delete all the files on Drive C on your hard drive if you have multiple drives & if you have only one drive it will delete all the data on it

    Hi.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I read to do the ALT F10 somewhere else, and I did so.

However, On both the Complete restore and the Restore OS and System retaining user data. Both of these errored out before they ended.

They are now both greyed out. I can't acsess them.

Then you should contact Acer because that is their problem not urs if you are in the warranty I guess they at least have to look into it

I hope you've backed up your data or you keep it on a different partition to the system one.
If that's the case- just use any retail windows DVD (i.e. a borrowed one)- install and use the product key from the sticker at the bottom of the laptop to activate. All drivers are available at Acer support site.

If you haven't made a backup of your data and kept it on C: partition you have to take the HDD out, connect it to another computer and back up your data and then re-install.

Next time when you buy a notebook and eRecovery pop-up comes up to asks you to burn recovery DVDs- please do so. :p

All default drivers (outdated ones) are available at Acer Support website.
You will need Launch Manager installed to be able to switch Wi-Fi on and off- otherwise no drivers will make wireless work.
