    Hi,

My Acer Aspire 5736Z has recently went down and I can't turn it on now (it was unexpectedly shutting down before until I couldn't turn it on one day). So I guess that my processor overheated and needs to be changed. But I have to test that before I buy a new one.
So, I'd like to know what processors are compatible with my motherboard PEW72 LA-6631P (MBRDD02001). I couldn't find the information on the internet or the Acer forums.

I also have an Acer TravelMate 5742ZG which has Intel P6100 processor (My Acer Aspire had Intel T4500). Can I put my P6100 to the motherboard mentioned above to test if the Aspire processor is not working? Or would that damage the working Travelmate processor?

    Thanks in advance,
    Petras

It's not really possible for a CPU to get damaged as a result of overheating so you are looking at a wrong component.
Your CPU is most likely fine, your motherboard is most likely not.

Thanks for your answers, this solved a lot!
I will look for a mother board then (will be harder than I thought).
