This laptop was bought with Vista. I installed Windows 7 32bit with all the latest updates. I'm having trouble with the Synaptics touchpad. The cursor is difficult to control, and virtual scroll doesn't always work. I can scroll down but can't always scrolls up. Double tapping the touchpad sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. Last the touchpad is too sensitive.

I've tried Acer drivers for both Windows 7 and Vista, the Synaptics latest drivers, HP drivers, and Dell drives.

The issue is the touchpad is not recognised as a touchpad and thus I can't access the advanced features to change the sensibility and other sittings.

Have you tried the Acer Alps touchpad drivers? Also, any BIOS updates?

I've upgrade the BIOS to the latest one last night. I've also tried the Alps driver from Acer and from Samsung I think. I got more option, but the touchpad is even harder to use. I checked the laptop hardware with SIW and the touchpad is made by Synaptics, hardware ID SYN1B22.
