Wondering if anybody has had this issue and a solution. Acer Aspire 5742Z-4200, doing a D2D factory restore (Win7), everything chugs along great, System reboots a couple times, All is fine until near the end of the procedure. Every time, right @ 21 of 22 "Installing Cleanup Software" It stays stuck there, the progress bar shows about 4/5's of it done, but goes no farther, I have tried to repeat this several times, actually leaving it alone for 2 days one time, but it never finishes. The OS actually looks like its in place, but this infernal cleanup keeps popping up to finish the Install, and alt+ TAB nor Ctrl+ alt+ delete will only momentarily bring up other windows or the task manager.
If anybody has ever dealt w/ this issue, I could use a suggestion @ this point ;)
    Thanks

Have you created any new partitions? if you have, try deleting them and do the recovery with the original partition set up the laptop initially came with.

yes, i have done a lot to this drive, deleting, adding, adjusting attributes...lol
    "Partitions, fat tables, & MBR's, .... Oh my ;) "
I have basically assaulted this drive with a barrage of tools, but have left the PQService part. alone. I have actually installed Win 7 on it via a MS Disk, and if it was mine, I'd be done with it, but alas, it needs to go back into the RTO loop @ the store, SO they want all the Acer Bloatware on it as well as ability to factory restore from within Windows, so I'm back to square 1.

Will attempt to do a HD recovery for all the part's. and fats and try your suggestion, Thank you kindly ;)
