Ok,so at least i should introduce myself because i'm new to these forums, where i hope i will be able to help others and hopefully get help from others.
    I'm Mike and I received for my 18th b-day a laptop. (which I chose.)
    It's an Aspire 5742g with Intel iCore i5 - [email protected] \ nVidia GT420M \ 4g's or RAM @ 1066mhz \ 500gb HDD (forgot the manufacturer,and don't have application to check it right now) \ LCD LED backlight 15.6" .
Ok so let's put it this way. Firstly i would like to know when it came out on the market (this model) If it's relatively 1 year old, could it be that i bought a refurbished laptop ? I bought it as "new" from a store(relatively big and famous in the electronics department in my country) so i shouldn't really worry about refurbished products right ?. The other thing is,i have a dead pixel on my LCD right near the middle. It isn't bugging me much, but since it's in the middle and 50% of the times i can spot it,it's starting to get annoying. Their policy states that i need a minimum of 4 dead pixels and 6 spread all over. This really is a problem. The other problem is that my keyboard (some keys) makes funny noises.,as if it was used a lot before i purchased it. (the right, left,up,down arrow) and some keys need to be pushed harder to work. So i won't really get a keyboard and LCD replacement right ?
*i can't take it back to the store were i bought it from,it doesen't have a return policy.
