First of all: hello, my first post here.

Im planning to buy a notebook, possibly asap. From my little research, I've found out that my tempting machines are Acer Timelinex 3820TG and Acer Aspire 5750. The first one well-known, reviews are easy to find and I know exactly what to expect from it. However, the new 5750 seems to be a good choice as well.

Are there any good reviews of this notebook? Any particular info about this machine? Its farily cheap, quite mobile with good battery life (5h+ on wifi) and performance is pretty good (+SB!) There is a possibility to buy it without an OS, so its even cheaper this way (im a student and i have access to MSDNAA)
My main concerns are build/durability and screen. DVD drive is useless for me. Also, I wish there was a 13" version. Then I'd definately take it.

Obviously 3830TG might be it; however, its kinda ugly with its blue color, no one knows when it will be available, performance is almost the same as in 3820TG and I think it might get hot because of 1 fan instead of two, according to photos, unlike 3820tg.

Did I miss any other good portable laptop with good battery life (5h+ wifi) and similliar performance and price?

    Sorry for my english mistakes.

If anyone have this 5750G, please post if the graphics cards remember the settings for external monitor.

If you un-plug the VGA connector - and plug again - will the computer switch to the external - or do I have to reconfigure the external monitor again ?

( 5750G looks like the perfect notebook - except for the reflective screen )
