My wife just got a new laptop from work, Acer 5755-6828, but it has no bluetooth that I can tell. Was BT an option on these laptops, can I add it myself? Or is she stuck using a BT Dongle? Only reason she needs BT is for her BT mouse.

    Thanks for any help!

It wasn't standard in this particular configuration (6828). Check the small bay near the battery- it looks like a free mini-PCI Express slot.
The main one is not a place to look- only HDD, RAM and Wi-Fi there.

Thanks for the reply. I will check there and see if I can put one in. If it can, any suggestions on a decent BT module to get?

Probably a Broadcom one- most manufacturers use those. Easy to get, cheap and reliable.

There was no connection point inside that small cover. I wonder if its possible to swap out the wifi module for a wifi+bt module?

Not sure if I could add the hardware in for a mini PCI-express slot or not?

Yes you can swap current Wi-Fi card for a combo if you want.

Yes- although 6230 has had some throughput issues due to the Bluetooth chip.
Only some people have issues like that and that's exactly what you're looking for so you shouldn't be too bothered about potential issues.

I would avoid that Broadcom. It's a low end 1x1 card capable of only 150mbps and only on 2.4GHz band- Intel 6230 is far better than that.
