Hello, I've been lurking around the forum looking for tips to hack my 5755G laptop and could not find a thread for this model so here goes.

    Specs:

    Intel Core i5-2450M 2.5GHz
    NVIDIA GeForce GT630M (1GB VRAM)
    15.6" LCD (1366x768)
    4 GB DDR3
    750 GB HDD
    HDMI, VGA
    3 x USB 2.0 + 1 x USB 3.0

It's a budget gaming laptop. Some model variations have a core i7, BR drive or a bigger HDD.

    So far I have found:

    - Service guide ( mirror)
    - Unlocked Insyde BIOS v1.17

A couple upgrades I want to perform:

-I'm planning on upgrading the OEM thermal paste because temps are pretty hot when gaming. I'll considering IC Diamond 7 for this task.

-After that, I'll upgrade to a SSD main drive and replace the ODD with a high capacity HDD.

My GPU has gone up to 101C when playing BF3 on low settings, the fan just does not kick in when it's supposed to, it always stays on low RPM. I'll be using Arctic Silver 5 though, so we'll see how that goes.

    Ah a good thread,

Same laptop but my specs are:

    Intel core i7 2670QM 2.2Ghz turbo boost to 3.1ghz
6GB Ram (planned upgrade to 8GB Ram)
Intel 120gb SSD + Seagate 500Gb hard drive
    Nvidia geforce 630m gt
    Windows 8 + Ubuntu 12.10

Cool laptop runs games like Need for Speed Most Wanted 2012 flawlessly, but mostly play games on xbox anyway

Hope we get more replies to this thread

That is weird that you have high temps, is your fan dusty? Have you tried to clean it out, its a really powerful laptop in a cheap chassis that is the main issue I find with this laptop
