There is currently a deal giving out 2GB of RAM on the 5613, so I guess my question is: is there much of a difference (besides price) between a 2GB RAM'd 5613 and a 5920?![]()
Keeping in mind I'd like to be able to play a fair few games on it, mainly WoW (would like it to as smooth as possible as I play alot of WoW), and Bioshock and some new games, I'm not sure if the GFX card is up to this, but paying 400e extra for a better gfx card seems like a bit much![]()
I'm also going to study architecture so needs to be able to run autoCAD etc pretty safely too!
Thanks!

Dolby certified sound system built-in with 5920
HD-DVD Rom(Optional but i think it's standard on us model)
New Intel santarosa platform processor
Lots more with 5920.please post your specs(5920 & 5613) -
I play alot of wow, and in pinch occasions, I used a dell 700m w/ integrated intel graphics chipset... With that wow ran ok with everything turned low, around 15-30fps depending area, with odd dips into 7-10fps when alot is going on. so it doesnt take much to run wow smoothly.
I'd go for the newer 5920 if u can, it will last longer (meaning being able to play the "newest" game of the moment). also, i dunno if the 5613 has mxmII vid card, but the 5920g does. That means it may be upgradeable later when newer mxmII cards come out.
for comparison, With the 8600m gt on my 5920g, I can turn everything up on wow, max settings and get smooth 30-70+fps everywhere. -
I went through this exact dilemma this week. I went for the 5613 since it was £500 rather than £750. I am a casual gamer so the 7300 card is fine for me. The rest of the upgrades did not seem worth paying for. I'll be changing again within 12 months but am very pleased with my purchase, bar the poor sound through the speakers. Headphones is fine.
Clearly between these two the 5920 would be the better route to go if gaming is the number one priority. But if that is the case then there are numerous machines with faster cards on the market, unless you must have Santa Rosa.
p.s. if the hd-dvd is standard on the US model for the £500 (US$1000) that I paid then you are very lucky. Here I think the difference is around £200.
