are you gonna watch HD DVDs? if not its a no brainer the 2nd one is the same with double the hard drive space and a bigger screen (good for gaming)

7720,,, bigger is better, especially where HDDs are concerned... and unless you have to have the HD DVD or just can't stand to lug around a huge lappy, then it is like elJaKo said... "it's a no brainer"

no becaeuse hd dvd is dead, i dont really know if it will be usefull to take the 17inch everyday to school, because its rather big.
When i looked at the prices again today they droppen 15 inch is now 727 euros but there is a new one with 4 gb and a blue ray player/burner but it has t5550 so i dont know if the t5550 will be a pain in the ass when it comes to gaming

I'd say get one that depends on your portability scenarios.

If you carry it around often, get the 15.4", if you leave it on the desk in your room alot, get the 17".

and you can get a bluray version of Acer 5920g too.

but if you do like 17.1 , go for the 7720G , it is better deal considering of the higher LCD resolution and better speakers.

but I do not like a huge 17+ size so if I were you , I 'd get the 5920G , the T7500 is still a good processor and it's got really unbeatable keyboard.

and do not listen to Acer haters (I was like that) cause they just hate it without trying it out.

read all European reviews , Acers are rated higher than HP , Lenovo or Dell.

only one problem is the HD-DVD but it is a rock-solid performer.

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2007/05/31/Acer-Aspire-5920/p1

I think this review is very honest and this is similar model to your 5920G602g25mn.

    Your is more powerful though.

    http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/436/6

as you can see here, its 3dmark06 score is just average , but in real life gaming benchmark score of it is higher than that of the XPS or similar hp tested in this German site.

So for the price , it is probably the best bet.

I believe so ,it is one of these best rated budget multimedia laptops.

If you see US reviews only , then you might think it is a cheap but horrible lappy, but take a look at a couple of great German reviewes and British reviewes , they all rate it better than similar hps or thinkpads.

and I think UK reviewes are much fairer than these us reviews since there are no uk makers of laptops in consumer market , so no emotion involved.

do you see acer ads in pcmag, cnet or laptop mag?

    probably not.

what do you see in these sites? HPs , Lenovos, Dells.........Toshibas , and as they sponsor these sites , in return , these sites rate them better than others........or choose them as editor's choice or whatever they call.........as far as I know , the laptopmag.com only choose Dells, Thinkpads and HPs as their editor's choice .....................no others.

plus, there are so many name worshippers, so you know what they say about Acer or Honda as compared to Lenovo thinkpad or BMW.........

any way,for 700euro , you can't go wrong with either of them, but you might want to consider the ASUs M51sn as well.

I think the Acer 5920g has better screen than the one in the ASUS , but they are very close and its' tough to say which is the better deal , I personally take the Acer 15.4 over the Asus 15.4 or Acer 17.1 because the Acer 15.4 has better LCD response time(8ms), the ASUs M51 has 16ms screen.

    ignore all politics.
