    Hi all,

I have already searched around on google etc for this problem(s), but cant' seem to find any similar pages.

Basically, my laptop (Acer Aspire 5920G, 2.5 yrs old) sometimes just dies after a few seconds after boot up. It would power up, the hard disc etc would all start, but then just die after 3-4 seconds as if the power has been cut.

Also, I've realised that before this happens, the "L" shaped blue indicator which tells you that it is connected to power adaptor, would continously blink and you can actually hear it tick as it blinks. The laptop would then power up, and then die after a few seconds.

They only way I have been able to get past this is by disconnecting all power and holding down the power key for 30s, then everything would work as normal (no blinking, boots up fine). It will never die again as long as the lapotp is up and running. However, this problem will always reappear again the next day.

Also, another strange problem, but I'm not sure if it's related to this in any way. Again only on some occasions, certain keys i.e. "8" or "f6" seem to actually BE the power key, so pressing them would turn the laptop on/off. It would boot up fine, but then when i type in for example my password, one of the keys would trigger a shut down, or a reset. I can then turn my laptop on by pressing some letters! This problem seems to fix itself, I just plug/unplug adaptor/battery randomly until it works.

p.s. Worth noting, not sure if relevant though, I took my laptop abroad for work, and it might have taken a few bumps along the way, although no major damage was done, just a few knocks maybe.

Thanks in advance, sorry if it's a bit long, but I couldn't find any other similar problems.
