Earlier this autumn I bought this notebook with vista installed. It worked absolutely fine until about 1½ week ago when the CPU usage suddenly began to jump between 5-99% and the FPS rate in all the games installed became really low.

Ridicously enough the problem began when I started winamp with our portable harddrive as the source, so I figured that it could be a virus that somehow could have been transfered along with the access to the portable hardrive (note that it was the first time I used it, earlier my brother had used it.). So I scanned the computer with Eset's Nod32 but I couldn't find anything.

So then I googled the problem and found out that the windows updater sometimes bug and screws up the CPU performance. So I cancelled the automatic update and then the CPU per centage quit jumping as before and set to a more stable ammount around 10-15%.

But the FPS rate is still not as it was before, so gaming sucks at the moment.

Any thoughts our tips about this problem would be appreciated. :)

    Best regards
