I've got problem with my webcam. She worked well when I had got linux Fedora 9 and preinstalled MS Windows Vista. Later I changed Vista 32 bit on Vista 64 bit and I long didn't used the webcam. Later I updated my bios under MS Windows Vista x64 (to v1.19 earlier I had got v1.15). One day I wanted to make a foto with webcam but with no success because Suyin application say Camera not found. Webcam "Vendor ID" is 0c45 and "Product ID" is 63e0. These values indicate on Sonix Webcam but I'am sure that I've got Suyin Webcam and that before I had corect Vendor ID and Product ID for Suyin Webcam. I want to add that i have tried to downgrade to older bios but it makes no difference. I want my Webcam back. I would be thankfull to anyone who would try to solve my problem.

IMHO u installed wrong drivers -- same happened to me on 5920 and I had to downgrade to later version. Have Vista x64 too and I am 100% sure it's because drivers.

Also, never update bios undes x64 OS! Read forum(s) and find tricks how to do staht other way (it's barried somewhere on this forum, too).

I searched the forum and the internet and found this:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=212580
    http://www.theacerguy.com/2007/06/12/an-apology-and-a-solution-for-the-orbicam-problem/
but these sites help those who are having problems to get rid of windows default Acer OrbiCam driver and i think that isn't my problem. The camera worked brilliantly under my linux Fedora and it worked too under Vista 32 bit, but yet camera doesn't work on Fedora, Vista 32 bit and Vista 64 bit.
Is it possible that bios update overwritten device id for webcam? I'm adding screenshot of my Device Manager under Vista 64 bit

There is a possibility you need different drivers for the camera so it would work properly.

Sonix camera drivers? But the camera with product ID: 6300 from Sonix even doesn't exist. So maybe the solution is to change vendor ID and product ID to Suyin camera but i don't know how.

what is the error message you get when you try and use the camera ?

check in device manager and see if the camera is showing
also check in MSCONFIG>start-up that the camera is not running at start-up.
if it is un-check the box and restart.

    good luck
    Phil :D

oops: just seen image. sounds like its being used by another device at start-up

    Hello!

I did fresh install on my Vista x64 and downloaded 2 different drivers fo Suyin camera and only one is working:

    OLD driver -- Camera Utility_Suyin_0.3M DV_v2.0.4_Vistax32x64_XPx32x64
    NEW driver -- Camera_Suyin_V3.0.2.1_Vistax32x64_For 1.0M

OLD driver is working without problems. Since your computer is an updated version of mine I suggest you try with new driver first (the one that does not work for me) and in case that doesnt work, try OLD driver.

Both drivers are from various sections of acer auro ftp site -- occasionally I just browse and search for updated drivers so I can't point you to exact location. FTP has address ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/

    Good luck!

After running Acer CrystalEye Webcam application i get "Camera not found!"
How can i check if its being used by another device?
I tried the drivers you've said but with no success. I think that before applying any drivers i have to bring back correct values to Product ID and Vendor ID. I searched the forum and i found this "forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3864798" (you have to add "h t t p : / /" before because i'm not allowed to put urls). I would like to check devices tab (Andy's last post on that site) for my camera and if it isn't correct change it. After that i would like to reflash bios with this small change. I downloaded winphlash-utility.zip from Acer ftp server, but program doesn't work under Vista x64. The question are: can i do it under Vista x64 and if not can i use this program to safely flash my bios under MS Windows XP and if yes what to do with e.g. "EGR-115.ROM" (one of two bios files) because program accept only "EGR-115.WPH". I'm adding that the newest bios (1.21) doesn't resolve my problem.

    Hello
I just want to post solution to this problem. My webcam is working now, but i had to send my notebook to service. It was hardware failure and nothing could be done so they put new webcam in my 5930G and my webcam sees now. If any of you do have got similar problem don't waste your time playing with drivers send it to acer.
