    Hi there!

    Firstly, Sorry my bad English.

A few days ago I was bought a new Acer Aspire 5935G-744G50N notebook. I would like to install the original nvidia 185.85 WHQL driver for the GT130M video card from the nvidia site. But the installer drop down me and doesn't installed the driver. :( He says: "Doesn't found components for the driver". Or something like that. Okay, I install back the original Acer-Nvidia driver from the driver backup dvd, but the screen brightness is too dark. :( I repaired the system with the system-restore. I delete again the originally installed Acer-Nvidia driver, and I download a modded .inf with nvidia driver from the laptopvideo2go.com. That's generate a bad screen resulation and after some installs black sreens. After it, I download a "Dox" modded driver from here, too, but it doesn't work correctly, too.

My question is: How the hell I install newest Nvidia drivers for this good laptop? :(

    Bye!

Advice : Do not force any drivers , that its not specifically made for your hardware .

In every drivers pack , there is an txt file , describing what this driver supports , is your mobile Nvidia listed ?

If not .. then use the default one ( ACER ) .

I think not this is my problem, because the driver support my mobile GPU, and the Acer driver is not installed correctly, too.

Today, I installed Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 and I download for it the original Acer driver from the Acer Support, and not installed correctly, because the driver shut down him with a blue death and restart the notebook. After it, the notebbok see the graphic card, but the Nvidia Control Panel doesn't installed. :(

The ACER laptop uses the Chip , but other video memory timings , than similar designs .

ACER knows best what hardware they had use .

As about the 64X drivers , always was a pain , you should stay with the original OS .

    Thank You for your answer!

That's not good. Why they use 4GB memory, if Acer only support x86 systems? :(

I have Acer Aspire 5930G ... a similar laptop compared to yours DJviolin ... however, I rarely experienced issues with x64 OS (as far as the drivers are concerned).

When I installed Vista Home Premium x64 on my laptop, most of the drivers already pre-installed without issues ... the only thin I had to update myself in terms of drivers were the sound card (to enable the sub-woofer) and of course Nvidia drivers for my graphics card (9600m GT GDDR3).

If you installed Vista x64 freshly on your computer ... then simply go to Nvidia's website and download the drivers for mobile graphic chips.
Sellect the 100M series (and Vista x64 as your operating system) and download/install.

Also ... try removing any previously installed graphic drivers before you do so.
There might be a conflict with the identification process of the new cards under x64 OS we are not aware of.

What you have to do is identify the gpu in your system before installing any new drivers.
It's possible you are attempting to install drivers for a non-existing gpu to begin with (as far fetched it may seem).

In your google search type in 'Gpu-z'
    Download it and run it.
It should provide you with an answer as to what type of GPU is in your system.
After that, the only thing you can do is first go to Nvidia's website and download official mobile drivers (is it possible you were downloading the desktop drivers before?)

    Hi!
Before I was installed the new nvidia driver, I removed the pre-installed Acer-Nvidia driver in the "Programs and features" menu. And yes, I was download the driver for the GT100M series.

This notebook uses hybrid technology. She have an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphic card in the motherboard, and the Nvidia GT 130M mobile GPU. The GPU-z says similer me, too. :)

    Ah ...
Since you have hybrid graphics ... I guess it's a problem to install drivers properly.

Ok ... here's what you can try.
    Download DOX's drivers:
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24003

Make sure to completely remove any prior drivers before you install these.
And in the driver installation window, pick your OS (Vista x64 I think you mentioned), and for the 'gpu config' select: Hybrid Graphics - (your OS).

Also make sure you read this just in case:
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24041

    Hope it's of some help.
    :)
You can also try installing Intel gpu drivers first for that integrated card and after that for the Nvidia.

But do try DOX's drivers beforehand.
    :)

Hi there! I tried 185.85 Dox driver in the first time. The completely removing procedure how works? Isn't enough to delete in the "Programs and features"?

How I know to suceed me the driver signature removing?

Today, I installed Windows 7 7201 on vmware. I would like to install mobile nvidia driver in the fresh system, but nothing happens, too. The dox driver isn't installed, too. :(

LOL. What a way to start a thread on a laptop :p

Thinking of buying this laptop for video editing and 3D modelling. Read from a review that the display screen is awfully glossy. Is this really an issue? Other than that, any other notes about the laptop?

    :)

I bought this laptop because it's the best price-value rated notebook in Hungary. :) MSI GT627 doesn't purchased in Hungary yet.

In my opinion, this is a very good notebook. But the video drivers...

The driver problem is caused by the fact that the laptop will accept only drivers found on the support page of acer. You can find there all the drivers, including apps, such as Launch Manager for the multimedia buttons! http://support.acer.com/drivers_download.aspx here it is. There are also drivers for the x64 OS, for video card and everything else. hope this helps! Regards

P.S.: The drivers from Nvidia support page (although you will find them) will NOT work on this notebook!
