Hi all, this is my 1st post!!
found this website today as I was looking around for reviews of the Acer Aspire 5943G i5version. I just bought this laptop today and I'm not much of a tech dude so I thought I'd see what you guys made of it. I picked a display piece up for £570 in perfect condition minus a scratch.
Will be using it for general use: (word/excel/powerpoint), watching quite a few films and a few minor games (old ones).
Is this laptop good for that price?
what do you guys think of the spec?
is there anything i need to do when i pick it up instore on monday and when i bring it home?

your help would be much appreciated!
    many thanks! :D
    Dave

    You asked AFTER buying it?

But quite frankly there are better notebooks for stock market trading... I assume that's what you intend to use it for since you did not tell us :p

Ha lol yes I am an impulsive buyer, although I can still cancel my order. I'm going to be using it for general use: (word/excel/powerpoint), will be watching quite a few films and a few minor games (old ones).

Hello dave1305. Welcome to the forum.

The notebook is OK for what you intend to use it.
I'm not going to comment on the price-tag as I don't live in the UK and prices can really differ.

In case you had not seen there are some decent refurb alienwares in the dell outlet for that kind of cash.

    1600x900 screens :)

EDIT nvm missed excl vat, but the m11xs are quite portable.

I wouldn't by an Alienware for occasional gaming.

I just thought the specs were good for the price, they were because VAT had not been added :/
