I have Acer 6530 and I recently changed to Windows 7 from Vista. Since then I cannot make my sound bar work and I really want to. The laptop has a touchbar on a keyboard, but after I changed to Windows 7, it doesn't work. It doesn't change the sound and it doesn't show up on the screen. Please, help!!!

Thank you so much!!! It kind of solved the problem - now I can see the bar, but the bar does not change the sound. If I turn off the bar - I still have the sound on. What can be that?

Do you see the speaker in the taskbar? can you increase or decrease the volume by clicking the speaker? Also check the sound driver in device manager.
    EDIT:
When you press Fn+ up or down arrow button does the volume changes?

I see the speaker in the taskbar and I can increase/decrease the volume there.
What do I check sound driver for? (sorry if this question is stupid...) There is no sound driver in my device manager, btw. There is "sound, video, game controllers". Is that the same?
And pressing Fn+ does not do anything as well...

Yes, that's the one, right click and see whether you have the latest driver for it, I have attached the sound bar which when I press Fn+Arrow keys does change the volume level, I'm running out of ideas, I hope someone else chime in.

EDIT: Try uninstalling the Acer Launch Manager and re-install, reboot the laptop and see whether it helps.

I think for the sound bar to work, you should be using the sound driver version that Acer has on their support site. I think generic (eg the latest Realtek) may not have the correct Acer adaptations.
You also need the mainboard chipset drivers, if any, as they have to match the sound drivers, and the Launch manager.

Hmm... Fn+arrows dpes not do anything. I have downloaded the drivers for the audio on Acer support site before and none seems to work. Now I even downloaded the chipset driver (the only one they have on their site) and it doesn't work either.
I restarted and re-booted. Just maybe need to try uninstalling Acer Launch Manager and re-installing it. Maybe I am using the wrong version of it... Which one should I use?

I installed all the audio drivers and some other drivers. Nothing seems to work. I see the bar on the screen and can operate it, but it doesn't change the sound on the laptop. Do you know what other driver can I maybe download?
