Hi im looking to upgrade my laptop

first of all i want to upgrade the processor

iv been looking at the core 2 duo T9500, but iv been told the X9000 will fit but needs the bios updating and will only run at 800FSB rather than 1066FSB (iirc)

secondly i want to upgrade the HDD to either the seagate hybrid drive or the wd 700gb 7200rpm drive,

    what do you think?

it already has 4gb of DDR2 in it

The X9000 is 800MHz by default, it will not run @ 1066MHz in any machine.

Well, first try to boot without updating the BIOS, because it's a risky operation and it could be supported after all. Other than that, if you don't overclock it, it would be OK, temp wise.
