you can try to reset the laptop:
1. take out CMOS battery, or
2. press Power button and hold for 60sec - no power cable attached, no battery in laptop - no power at all! -
I am having exactly the same problem with my Acer Aspire 6920. Hey, rbaraldi, did u fix ur laptop already? I need any possible help... please..

The correct sequence to use (at least it works on other models) is
Remove all power, remove battery, hold power key down for 30 secs.
Connect battery and power, hold Exc key while booting.
Repeat several times especially if 'something changes' the first time
If it still won't go you need to reset BIOS in hardware - service manual job unless you have a model with a removable battery -
for us other 6920g users and to maybe help better what exactly did you do 'change BIOS set up' ?

I did something super stupid.
I accidentically pressed to delete the " Program File X86". When i realized it, 5G of that file has already been deleted. After cancelled deleting, i tried to restart my laptop. But that PC was trying to upgrade someting before turning off, and it seemed that it would take forever. I finally ran out of patience and forced to turn it of by pressing the Power button after waiting for 20mins. And then it is what is happening right now. I can not even go to BIOS.

I just brought my AS 6920 to Staples to ran the Diagnostic for $69.99. After running the fdsgnostic for my PC. That guy told me it was the problem of the motherboard. He also adviced me to replace it for $250. I don't know if i should trust him or not since he could not even provide me any analysis parper for running the Diagnostic ( he explained he could not print out those parpers becasue he could not go to BIOS) and i thought it was the problem of operation system but not hardwares. Does anyone have any ideas about what i can try other than replacing the motherboard? Please help... Thanks..

Try a boot disk.

I dont see how deleting the program files directory would have messed up the bios.
Have you tried pressing alt + F10 when the Bios is loading (or acer logo)
Have you tried booting with a bootable disk (e.g. some windows XP /Vista/ 7 install disk in CD drive
Have you tried removing the HDD completely to see if that has failed ? -
Thanks for help, guys. I have tried everhthing you guys suggest but removing HDD since i don't know how to check if it works or not. " Bruboo", can you also tell me how to check. And is there other possible sugguestions? I very appriciate that.

I don't know the 6920 at all. Generally remove the largest access panel on the bottom, locate the HDD (a large silver box sometimes in a metal carrying tray and sometimes wrapped in anti static 'tinfoil'.
To remove it inspect it very closely. Is it fixed in with any visible screws . . if so remove and put safe noting any different lengths/types.
The HDD will now be able to move. Some laptops use a plastic interface connector that plugs simultaneously onto the main board and the HDD (work out how to remove or gently lift the HDD to see if it comes lose)
Alternatively if connected by a cable you may be able to lift the HDD a little out of the laptop. Some cable connectors have a locking mechanism - usually different colour plastic on the board 'socket part' that needs lifting, hinging up, easing out etc. Force is NEVER needed
For our purposes removing either end is equally good. Then insulate the free end of the cable if still attached to the main board and try to boot now -
I got this, BruBoo - just did a hard drive upgrade on my own 6920G a month and a bit ago.
Turn the laptop off, remove the AC adapter and battery, then press the power button down for a few seconds - this'll drain any electrical charges left in the system, making it safe to operate on.
Flip the laptop over, and remove the 6 screws holding the main panel - I call it the "buttplate" - in place. There are tabs to keep it in even with the screws removed, so don't be afraid to tug on it a little.
The hard drive sits to the bottom-left of the main access area; it's wrapped in a silver foil case with a pull-tab, and is not held in place with screws. Use the tab to carefully pull the hard drive in the direction of the battery to remove it from the SATA connector, then pull it up and out. You can leave the hard drive in the foil - it's easier to replace it that way.
Then put the buttplate back on; use the screws if you want, but for testing purposes like this, I'd say not to bother.
