    Hello

I was installing Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 6920.

It had Windows Vista installed. I deleted all the partitions including backup (Yes I found out that was stupid), and tried installing Windows 7.

It wouldn install Windows 7 so I went back to Windows Vista. I found my recovery disk and it sort of worked. There where no errors in the setup but when I start my computer it doesnt go to Windows.

It has a black screen with a white _ blinking.

    Any suggestions?

Does the BIOS screen load properly?
Do you see any part of the Windows boot screen?

blinking _ sounds like the os loader is looking for the os in the wrong place.
are you sure you deleted all partitions, maybe you still have hidden ones there. can you do a complete format on another computer?
many people here have win 7 (32,64, beta, rtm) on 6920 so it does work. check your win 7 install disc on another laptop if you can, does it boot into setup?
as you are going for a format anyway, keep trying windows 7.
i wouldnt trust acer recovery discs and deleted my recovery partitions about 2 days after i got the laptop.
