Good to hear that. Thanks for not blaming me of my useless solutions.
Maybe you should explore yourself. RMclock is a good tools especially on registries entries, you should try how to function regedit and edit the codes/strings. So, your laptop could function better(RMclock could unlock more stuffs).

Hello everybody, me and a friend have found a PERMANENT solution to the Intel SpeedStep downclocking issue:

First of all, we reinstall EVERYTHING new, on an AS 6920G. ..and that means everything, from BIOS to OS.
1)First we used a new BIOS, and running XP.
-We installed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, World of Warcraft, Crisis, Savage 2, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2.
-Also installed RMClock while we ware at it.
-While playing all of the games, we never experienced any form of downclocking problems and they ware running at quite high performance.

2)After that we totally revamped it, and installed the same BIOS, but this time with Vista.
-As the previous try, we installed all the same games and RMClock.
-While playing all the games on vista, we didn't experienced any downclocking in vista too, but the performance was a tiny bit lower then on XP, but that was as expected. ..but it was still high.
As these tests showed, with a new BIOS, we managed to run all of these games without any form of downclocking.

..but of course, my friend being a Linux-freak, just installed Ubuntu on it the sec we ware done, without noting down what BIOS we used or saving any of the screenshots, but considering that we used a BIOS usually used on servers, it should not be too hard to find a compatible BIOS that works just as well.
The BIOS actually was the same as one of the new Octacore-servers my friend's father had just bought.

The one thing that remains now, is to find the correct BIOS for 6920g, for all we know, in the long run, the one we used could be bad for the computer, but it didn't show any signs of it while we ware testing.

..so be on the lookout for a good one, but keep in mind, finding other solutions is preferable, so that you don't have to get a new BIOS ofc. ;D

    Is it a Official BIOS?
Because not all machines even the same model can run the same BIOS.
Bad flashing can cause instant death for the machine.

I smell BS. No screenshots, for one. And then there's the use of a SERVER BIOS on a NOTEBOOK, which is just this side of mentally defective.
Post a CPU-Z Mainboard tab screenshot here ASAP - that should provide some insight into what BIOS you used.

well, next time around, when he comes home from vacation, we'll run the tests again, I'll gladly post screenshots etc.

..but I see how you may doubt this, no screenies and all, but you will see in good time.

Fair enough - now we've got two possible solutions in the pipeline - Weinter's DSDT clearing, and Mainfold's alternate BIOS solution.

I hope he won't photoshop-ing the screenshoot. LOL.
But he claims or very sure his Server BIOS would work.
The BS you mentioned were referring as Blue Screen?

Currently, we have 2 new up-going solutions(weinter and mainfold).

lol, my friend just called, I now owe him a new computer.
..it went haywire and is now about as valuable as a refrigerator from 1920.

so, now we'll be running the tests on my 6920, not that i'm happy about it, but if we get weinter's method to work, i'll save myself some cash, and not have to buy 2 new 6920's.... if mine goes to s too.

still not sure it's my fault that it's now a pile of junk, but he claims so, but I'd rather find a good solution to this, rather then an experimental unsafe hobby-solution, done by two guys who just wanted to find a sort of quick fix to underclocking.

but for now, I only see one problem with weinter's method, and that might be fan-malfunctioning, other then that, I think we can all agree on that it's the best one so far.

    As expected. Don't be sad.
Weinter's theory is highly believable and I read some website also stated this method could fix the throttling problem by rewriting new DSDT table.

Try vacuum your laptop(clean dust) and check again. I think the throttle strikes again because your laptop CPU temperature have increased(maybe a lot) and trigger the throttle again.
Weinter's solution is on the build(much advance). I hope we have a new solution on this.
Anyway, is it your Processor half-multiplier(even number, 2.1Ghz, 2.3Ghz, 2.5Ghz and so on)?
Lastly, again I should tell, this method is not 100% workable for all user especially on stronger core clock processor(due to its VID needed is too large).

my processor is "Intel Core 2 Duo Processor p8700 2.53Ghz". i only able to cross my finger while waiting for the new solution because i'm getting tired trying all the set up and regedit possibilities . although this method is not working 99,9% i'll take that 0,01% chance rather than sitting here weeping for ACER incompetence.

We have an user tried on Server BIOS(which is highly not recommended by us) and screw-up his AS 6920G. Now, his AS 6920G is dead(can't power-on).
So, when tweaking, you're advise to be careful especially it is BIOS flashing kind of stuffs. Flashing of BIOS can be deadly.

DarkSilver, your tutorial is 100% safe? i mean i cant damage my laptop if i follow it? , so far i have managed to undervolt from 1.25V to 1.0V, max cpu temp is 49 C, before undervolting it was 65 C if i remember well

btw, after running orthos for 12 mins, cpu temp was 47 C, and my laptop restarted, should i change to higher voltage or? why did it restarted when temp wasnt high?

Not sure. Maybe it have something to do with your TM 2(forget it, I was lazy recently). Another prediction is CPU is unstable on such a low voltage, so, it restart after being stress for a while.
You can change the VID of course to test out its stability.
My tutorial is not 100% safe but I can't see or point out where is the unsafe parts(I guess for an advance user, such a tweak can be reverted easily).
If you want to play extremely safe:
a.) Do not try anything(even an official software or BIOS can be deadly, especially BIOS)
b.) Back-up your important files, always create healthy system restore point, Disk Image backup, have your D2D recovery DVD/OS DVD(for re-installation of OS known as reformat) and Ubuntu Live CD(lazy explain).
c.) Sit down and use your laptop at its current state(most safe if together with some good Antivirus and system maintainence tools).

You have the same problems as onur83, which the RMclock advance > chipset tab and throttling tab option has been greyed out.

Try this solution I don't know if it works(follow the steps):
    1.) Turn off your RMClock.
    2.) Delete your RMclock folder.
3.) Open Regedit, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software]. Find RightMark and delete the whole RightMark folder in the regedit.
4.) Shutdown your computer(not restart) and plug-out the AC power.
5.) Plug-in the AC power and start your computer again.
6.) Scan your computer(registry) with CCleaner(download it if you haven't, D/L, http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/) and fix all the registry errors.
    7.) Restart your computer.
8.) Download and install RMClock(don't extract from the old 1) again.
9.) Check the Advance > chipset tab and throttling tab(greyed out or normal again?). If it is not grey-out, then fine. If it still grey-out, I have no idea. No matter what the result, proceed to step 10.
10.) Follow my guide again, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=393073

yeah it's still greyed out... i think our (me and onur83) laptop has more flaws than yours and the semi fix method doesnt seems to works on my laptop as well. oh and 1 more things didn't realize you've been playing GRID as well when i read your previous ScreenShot post. Cool Racing game huh? "if it's not throttling in the middle of cornering" :D

I don't know why suddenly a lot of laptop seems to have the chipset and throttling tab areas got greyed out. Because mine have been functionable for so long.
Yep! The GRID is a great game. With throttling in the middle, you would be playing COMIC GRID instead of ANIME GRID.

You are luckier than me. Cause you have x11 multiplier, i saw it in your screenshot. It means you can fix your throttle problem with underclock. "Engage Intel Dynamic Acceleration(IDA)" click this then you can use x11. I wish i have x11 multiplier.

Be careful on your "no more ACER laptop in the future". That's OK and acceptable for me or I even support you. But Tehsuigi have the totally different opinion.

As mentioned to you before, sometime, I can't really catch the jokes. LOL.
Just now, you PM'ed me, lower the multiplier with lower voltage is a good method(tried before). But you would lose some performance.

There are a lot of CPU tweaking tools around the internet.
You can test/try but at your own risks.
As for RMClock again, I think you should slowly tweak it or do some analysis on it because wyald has the patient/endurance and he did it lastly. But I am not sure your hardwork would really help you. LOL.
I have try modifying the CPU codes strings stuffs(using other CPU tweaking tools) but Acer has locked it or something. I can't modify them. Each restart, the codes will revert back to original. LOL.

Why does Acer lock everything? Because it's not an enthusiast brand.
Acer needs to make sure that users of all stripes - from total beginner to advanced IT legend - can use their systems without screwing things up.
Yes, it limits what we can tinker with, but again, you're getting what you pay for.

    Agreed. With the price. LOL.
Actually, not only Acer locks everything. Many similar brands did that as well, such as DELL, HP and ASUS.

I understand the frustration of onur83. That's why he was complaining. Not totally his fault. I am the same onur83 before I found this tweak. T.T
