There's one update on there that is has a big performance boost.

Not saying the Win 7 raiting system is a good way to rate an system, but I use it as a quick reference.

Before running those updates I had a 4.5 system rating for my desktop.

    It's now 5.6...

Guess they fixed somthing, and I did noticed a big difference.

Also noticed that most people who undervolt, have managed to overclock the GPU a fair amount.

Can't wait until work is done so I can some of this out.

I am glad to hear that. I hope it fixes the bugs for me.
Especially the major bugs which are:
    1.) Battery mode Freezing
    2.) "folder in use" issues

I'm almost sure about the "folder in use" issue.

One of them had a few battery fixes.

Sighs, I'll b running the 1.8v pack tonight on the laptop. I've been using them on desktop only.

    Time to download

    Glad to hear that.

So I ran the 54 updates, no issues, no roll-backs, no quirks.

The Win 7 system rateing never went up *which is odd, as I seen it happen on two other machines*, but they both were ATI not Nvidia.

But there was a performance difference, I'm not getting super techincal today; but it feels snapy; and has a few big bug fixes.

I still haven't had a chance to test out any games to see if I get the slow down; tonight's the test.

So I'm running a Aspre 6920g on the dual core 1.83Ghz, the Gefore 9500M, 4 GB of Ram, and the 320GB drive.

Seems like a common model, so I'll do some testing tonight.

Maybe we'll see how much better a fully patched Win 7 handles herself.

Running Windows 7 -> 0.925v using the guide, no throttling happening.

Played left 4 dead for 50 mins with zero issues

Glad. You can run such a LOW voltage. I think you won't experience THROTTLE again. Lastly, thanks for the Windows Update stuffs information.

So I really pushed her last night with the voltage that low I was not able to get the temp about 50C.

When I started before the modifications I hit 70C.

So during heavy load say World of Warcraf, Left for Dead, or Dawn of War II since they don't peg the CPU 100% I have yet to see the cpu temp reach higher then 42C.

    Thanks for the rep!

Errr??? It suppose to be 1. LOL. You can't change it though. I forgot to mention this. I am not sure since every laptops are different.
My laptop used to be throttle with just normal undervolting but after using this tweak, the temperature that would kick-start the throttle become higher and the temperature of the CPU become lower. So, it is harder for it to touch the throttle point that as been set higher and make the CPU throttle.

But Clean Installation of OS(64bit) is more recommended for me.
Laptop that out of useless software and modded Acer craps works better and have lower temperature.
The best OS now is Windows 7, which I found it have the lowest temperature.

    laughs that undervolting is amazing.

    Tnx Darksilver

    one more question :D

im using Windows 7 Pro. 64 Bit (and XP Pro Dual boot)
in win 7 in power options, RM Clock creating a RM Clock Power Management option do i have to select it in every restart ?

And in CPU info (RM Clock) i cant see a change in startup section 6x 0,9250 V
But Current 1.000 V 10x is this true ? And in advenced cpu settings Target FID 10x Target Vid 0,9250V

i think that fix worked for me on Resident Evil 5 and Batman Arkham Asylum :) but we need a new bios actually :S

Tnx for your helps. ur helping way too much than acer :D

Each processor is different. Mine, T8100 2.1GHz is 10.5x FID which RMClock(ancient software) doesn't have half-multiplier reading on the selection. Luckily, it allows me to choose 11x FID which it provides 10.5x.

You just set your RMClock to start-up automatically everytime(settings tab). In addition, on the Profile tab, choose Current and Startup to be Maximal Perfomance in both Battery and AC. So, you don't need to worry about other thing.

Hi darksilver, how are you doing my master? I dont read your issue for a while. If you remember it doesnt work for my cpu cause it has x10.5 multiplier.
Is there any new solution with this?

Huh? Did you mean you can't use 11x Multiplier(which it will lower itself to 10.5x even it is written 11x there)?
I do remember your name of course. I think it might be the CPU doesn't support IDA. That's why you can use the 11x(10.5x).
My issues? Obviously, it is Windows 7 freezing in battery mode. LOL.
I don't know if the standalone leaked Windows Update from a website works for me(will test it out while free). T.T
So, now, I am on Windows Vista again due to that.
If you don't mind, I think you should re-install the OS. I mean a CLEAN installation using Vista Installation Disc or 7(if you have it).
I noticed I was able to adjust more setting in RMClock after doing a CLEAN installation.

Ok. Yes i do use only 10x multiplier in RMClock. Normally mine is 10.5x but you know it doesn't allow to use like 10.5x.
I dont know about windows 7. Actually i am pritty happy with my vista ultimate x64. But i will try it when i have a win 7 disk.

Hi there, new timer here, I've been following this post and the guide to undervolting, followed all instructions and the guide to throttling issues.

I have followed I believe perfectly on my Aser 6935G up to the last point where I edit my CPU temp offset thing in registry.

The auto value data is: 0000

It's always there and can't be removed.

What should I type in there? I typed in a 05 and now it looks like:
    0000 05
Is this okay or do I need to type something different? :)

    Thanks!

Did you read the guide properly?
It is stated the original value is "000 00 ." and please change it to "000 05 .".
So, you just need to change the last(most right) 0 to 5. That's all.

Ok, so I added a 5, that is all, it automatically makes it look like this now.

    0000 50 P

I just want to know if that's ok, and thanks :)

I'm not that tech savvy as you may know, and thanks for the patience.

I was confused by your statement actually.
It is not necessary to tweak the Temperature Reading Accuracy.
You can try different software to get to know the actual correct reading of your Temperature.
RealTemp can do it very well. Google it!

Try uncheck all boxes on the Advance CPU Setting>Chipset tab.
Uncheck the C2E, C4E and Hard C4E in Advance CPU Setting>Processor tab
Uncheck the boxes as mentioned will probably give u a stable FID and VID.
I don't know would it fix but the problem you faced is strange and rare.
I have this problem while I set the VID lower than 0.925V using the unlocking method.
Whatever I set lower than 0.925V, it will remain at 0.925V. But 0.925V is indeed lowest for my laptop already. So, I don't care about it.

You mean already use the registry tweak?
If haven't, please do it 1st. Then, only tell your result.
You can have the registries in your regedit by go to your RMClock folder. Find RMClock_Tweaks. It is a Registration Entries file.
    Apply it.

    Ok what i`ve done?
1.i try with your registry tweak -- nothing change.
2.i run some tests ORTHOS and HWmonitor
results with turn on ORTHOS for 10 minutes i notice something on HWmonitor
in the post for undervolting by flipfire he said he reach max temp of 79c on my HWmonitor
are like this after 10 min :
    Value:51c Min:51c Max:51c
for 10 min this temps not change i don`t know but i think when the test is turn on for this time they must change....
When i play some game i see on first colum in RMClock "cpu core clock and throttle the pink throttle goes half and exactly then my performance go down....

If you can tell me how to fix that :) sorry for my bad english

Actually, I can't really understand all.
But, I will tell that, maybe this tweak is not suitable for your machine. As mentioned in the 1st Post of this Topic, it is not 100% working solution.
Some people are able to fix it with it but not all.
I do no recommend HWMonitor for newer PCs. Get sometime like Everest or RealTemp.

And second when i go to advance cpu settings in RMClock everything is lock because is unregistered version or??!?!

Actually, I do not recommend anyone to remove the dust protection mesh(you mean this right?) at the bottom of the laptop. It will cause all the dust to enter the inner cores of the laptop and you will need to clean them in care. In addition, hairs can enter the laptop without the mesh and spoil your laptop too.

If this fix didn't work on you, you can try weinter or moral hazard solution.
Here is the topic about the solution, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=403988&page=41
However, that solution might not be work as well. Please take note that this problem(throttle) do not have 100% workable solution currently. So, LUCK is the key.

i`ve done it :) i just changed a little bit the settings in RMCock
    so the settings are:
    Profile Performance on demand
    FID x6.0 VID 0.9875V
    FID x7.0 VID 0.9875V
Usually the default is 1.4V (in everest) on my CPU Core 2 Duo P7350

in profile menu -----> Performance on Demand
i have only two x6.0 and x7.0 to choose
i marked x6.0 PTS not x7.0 like i read in one post to mark highest ---->Apply
and result is 2 hours playing Batman Arkham no problems.
On the first place in the first 10 min playing on monitoring in RMClock i noticed throttle was on half...
    :)
this is the way that i fix the issue(not fix sorry there is no fix yet)but still if someone can`t understand me please pm me and i will explain in more details.

Good work on undervolting the machine, ScorpioS!
Just use something like ORTHOS to stress-test your machine to ensure its stable at those voltages.

Good job. You're really hardworking. XD
Since there's not 1-Fix 100% Working Solution, experiments and passions are needed to fix this problem and you're doing it well.
OK. Now, you can try more on the experiments, maybe you can find another better solution for yourself or other too.

That's more for disabling SpeedStep on desktop CPUs so overclockers can keep their systems running at the same speed at all times.
Notebooks benefit from having SpeedStep on when running on battery, as it'll downshift your CPU into a lower frequency and power state when it's not needed.

Plus, I get antsy about changing any registers on the CPU itself. One wrong move, and your system could become completely unresponsive.

    Tried that long ago. Useless.
Acer BIOS has locked the most of the setting. I change the CODE of the EIST but once restart, everything reverted back to original.

I suppose Tehsuigi means flash the Motherboard BIOS?

    Anyway, I am getting a new desktop(with Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 :) ) 1 or 2 weeks from now.
So, I don't care if Acer will release the fix or whatever it is.

Good. Alienware is awesome. Acer is like HELL and while Alienware is like HEAVEN.

    @Maniaka,
Your choice, my guide isn't totally about undervolting only. Please do read every single details there. In addition, my guide did link to FLIPFIRE guide too if you read carefully, there is a link to the guide for basic usage of RMCLOCK.

I just bought a used 6920G with 1.86 T5550 and it can't any of my games. For those who have the same cpu what is the best volt setting ?

Also has anybody been having problems playing 1080p MKV files while plugging the laptop into a HDTV? It plays 720p fine, so is this related to the throttle issue. And I am using VLC player too

FYI: I am also calling Acer and complain about the ty BIOS later on

Meanstreet, the voltage varies from CPU to CPU - one might be stable at one level, the other not. Start at 0.1V below your stock level, and work down/up from there. Back up, test for stability, and you'll be fine.

Does VLC support DXVA video acceleration? 1080p video is rather intensive without being able to offload the processing to the GPU via DXVA. I know Media Player Classic Home Cinema does, so try that too.
