    Hi all,

I have a 6920G (Had it for about a year and a half now)
    Windows 7 64bit
    4GB RAM (Upgraded)
    9500GM
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 2.0Ghz

I understand that I wouldn't be able to play top end games, as I've tried to play Batman Arkham Asylum and even in low its extremely laggy. All I want to do is play something simple, like CS:S, however even when all of those settings are low (under what it recommends) I just get really poor, 10-20 FPS.

I firstly don't have lots of things running in the background, just general things that normally run. I've always had a problem with gaming on this machine and wondered if there was anything you guys could inform me about to help. I know I cant upgrade the RAM any higher and I'd prefer not to have to upgrade the CPU and Graphics as I'd rather just get a new system.

All help and advice is appreciated and any other information you need I can provide.

Check if your CPU isn't throttling (ThrottleStop).
It was an issue with some 6920Gs

Arkham Asylum has never played that great on my acer, but in CSS I get close to 120 fps. I do use throttlestop and it REALLY fixes the downclocking issue.

You also might want to look into overclocking your video card, because these 9500m cards overclock really well.

CS: Source should run smooth with your configuration since my Acer 6920G has lesser specs and ran it flawlessly. As suggested check to see if there is throttling. I'd use CPU-Z, GPU-Z, and task manager.

Thanks for the replies, I have downloaded ThrottleStop and I am actually gettin a stable 59 FPS now and can play CS:S in high! Which is fantastic. Batman AA I have tried in Medium settings and it plays fairly well, but my temps go up to about 63C which is a bit mental.

How would I go about overclocking the 9500? Didn't know you could over clock these, thought it was just the CPU you could.

63*C is not hot at all so don't worry about this.
There are quite a few tools for OCing nVidia cards- just remember not to overcook it with VRAM as it's only DDR2 and doesn't go very high.

Yea 63 is not high at all. My 6970m actually idles at around 60 degrees celcius, and this is AFTER repasting and using a notebook cooler with fans positioned right under the vents. (it was 10 degrees higher with stock paste)
