Hello. I have an ACER 6930 notebook that orginally came with Windows Vista then Acer or Microsoft gave me a free upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. This all happened in 2009, and I do not recall where I put any system cds/dvds.

I would like to do a complete reinstall of Windows. I also believe I deleted any HDD partitions. I do have a c:drive only. I tried to do alt F10 and I did not have the option for a clean install. It only allowed me to reinstall an image I created.

I was able to retrieve my Product key with "KeyFinder" program. It stated that it was from "OEM" media and my system product ID has "OEM" in it.

If I use an OEM Windows 7 home premium 64 bit DVD to do a clean install, will my product key (above) reactivate windows. I question this because the key is not on a sticker (my pc sticker is from the original vista install) and the Windows 7 install was a from a free promo.

2nd- Can I trust that the ACER website will provide me enough drivers to get this back to factory settings?

    Thanks.

old thread.... i finally upgraded my 6930 to 7 home premium...

i bought a new 1tb hdd, set my bios to read dvd first, installed the new hdd, put in the disk, restarted, windows 7 ran perfect, did not add any drivers or download anything else... straight up clean install, no issues at all!!!
