yesterday evening our Acer Aspire 6930G ( windows vista premium ) was in standby mode , i wanted to go back into the normal mode to shut down the laptop but suddenly the screen went black and the laptop couldnt recover to normal situation anymore, the laptop's battery also went silent now. I needed to call the Dutch ACER helpdesk for making a repair agreement. I will need to send my laptop via UPS to their Repair centre in Germany .... I still have guarantee/warranty fortunately. But does anyone have the same experience with their Acer Aspire 6930G's screen suddenly going black and after that the battery going down ???

I know this may sound silly or even a bit obvious but have you tried removing the batttery, leave it out for about a minute, put back in and try and fire it up?

Yes I tried that already yesterday, 15 minutes after I discovered the errors :) That didnt solve it unfortunately.
