    Hi,

I'm really hoping someone here can help me with this as it has me completely baffled.

I have an Acer Aspire 6930z laptop. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the screen went a lot darker on the left hand side and would flicker during start up. This was something I put up with but then after some time I noticed the bottom left corner of the screen would get incredibly hot and go black, shortly after I got complete back light failure on the screen and could only use the laptop on an external monitor. I have no problems on the external monitor.

After some research I decided to try replacing the inverter as that seemed the most likely cause of the problem.

I got the new inverter and fitted it today. Now when I power up the laptop the screen is fine there is no dimming...... For about 20 seconds or so, after that time the screen will flicker and start buzzing / hissing and switch itself off, I Fn F6 and the screen will come on for another 20 secs or so and the same thing will happen over and over.

I now don't have a clue what I can do from here or what the problem is. Any help or advice someone could give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Was it a new inverter or a used one?
To be honest this also sounds like an inverter issue- however unlikely it might seem.
