    Ok,
My screen cracked and I upgraded it from WXGA to to the HD screen (WUXGA). It looked horrible. It was all blue and distorted. So I came to this forum, saw some upgrade threads (mostly for the 6930) that said you also need to upgrade the cable. I did, bought the one for WUXGA, ironically, the old cable coming out of the laptop was labled WUXGA/WXGA, but, I got the part number from ACER for the WUXGA cable and it arrived today. I installed and reassembled, but, there was no change in the display, still was mostly bluish and has verticle lines throughout.
Any ideas? There are lots of experts on here and I welcome any reply!!!

    Would updating BIOS help?

Here is some more info if this will help anyone diagnose my problem:

    Core2 Duo T6400 @2GHz
    Bios Version: 1.14
    Intel GMA 4500MHD
    4GB Ram
VideoDriver: Mobile Intel 4 Series Express 8.15.10.2202

    I really appreciate anyones thoughts...

Uninstall the Intel Display Drivers and restart.
Check if the display works well using Generic VGA Display Drivers.
Download and reinstall Intel Display Drivers.

Thanks for the advice. I've uninstalled the display drivers and restarted into the generic. I needed the external monitor on since the display was not clear at all. Im only seeing the far left half on the new built in display. There was no change with the generics. I redownloaded the Intel drivers and restarted again. Still no change.

What would be left? BIOS? Is it possible my new display is bad? New cable bad?

    Hummm...

Might want to swap your motherboard out and get a dedicated card like the 9600m GT.
You know, just in general because its an awesome upgrade for performance and gaming etc but yea it could definitely be the problem.
If the version with intel 4500 was never released with the higher resolutions, then they could have omitted some tracks on the circuit board to the intel chipset making the cable useless.

Can you try to set the panel to a lower resolution and see what it does?
There is also the possibility that the pinout it a little different or something.
