Hey All,
Booted my laptop up about half an hour ago and when it booted into Windows I noticed that the mouse was not working & the cursor did not move at all, tried the left & right click but still nothing. Decided to plug my USB optical mouse and I was able to use the cursor then. Rebooted the laptop but the mouse would still not work after. Then I came up with the FN + F7 key method but then it only came up saying that the touchpad is now disabled, then i did they key method again & enabled the mouse once more but it still would not work!I then looked in the device manager only to find that the laptop's mouse had dissappeared! Also looked in the Synaptics manager and the mouse was missing out of there too! I thought this could possibly be a driver issue so I attempted to add new hardware & see if it could pick up the mouse but that did not work either! Now that all my options were used up I was a bit stuck. Then randomly for some reason, an idea about turning the laptop off & removing the battery & inserting it back in came into my head, so I did that and guess what! After i re-booted up the laptop again the mouse suddenly starts working again! Does anyone have a possible idea to why the mouse just suddenly refused to work when I first booted the machine up or is this just a one-off mouse boot or software issue?
Thanks all - Liam
