"Acer will offer two different sizes of the Aspire 7. Besides the 15.6-inch format, which is still popular, there will also be a 17.3-inch system. Both can be equipped with an optional matte Full HD IPS display (1920x1080 pixels). The case is made of plastic and aluminum with a textured surface.
High-end Multimedia and Gaming with GTX 1060 GPU

Acer will offer numerous core components all the way up to the Intel Core i7-7700HQ in combination with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB GDDR5) as well as 16 GB DDR4-RAM and 512 GB PCIe SSD plus 1 TB conventional HDD storage.
Other features are 802.11ax (2x2) Wi-Fi, backlight keyboard, fingerprint scanner (Windows Hello support), USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen.1), USB 3.0 as well as two additional USB 2.0 ports and HDMI.
The Aspire 7 will probably be launched in July starting at 999 Euros. The previously mentioned high-end SKU will probably be a couple of hundred Euros more expensive. "

I like how unobtrusive and professional it looks. This is so much better than all these gamer laptops with red, tacky designs.

Watching various videos I noticed that the Acer Aspire 7 is very similar to the Acer Predator Helios 300. The maintenance flaps are at the same position, the ports are at the same position, the fans are at the same position. We can safely assume, that the barebones are basically the same. Imho this is a good sign, because I've mostly read positive things about the Helios (aside from the tacky design).

It does and it has a Thunderbolt port as well. That is not listed on the Acer website but it is listed in the manual. Linking to the US Acer shop only to show what is available in the US as I did not look for other locals. Since I have two 500GB SSDs sitting around so I'm looking at the VN7-593G-76SS.

    Got this laptop myself.
Is really amazing the performance and the neat looks.
    The IPS screen is awesome.
Can play bf4 on ultra 120+fps, overwatch on ultra 100+fps.
Does run a little hot. Sometimes max temps 97°.
Trying to play with undervolt settings yet.

I've read, that some people found a solution to hot CPUs by modifying the Windows energy profile "balanced" and set the CPU max value to 98% at advanced settings, to make it cooler. However I have only read that in a comment about an Asus notebook with a 7700HQ, and not for the specific Acer. Maybe worth a try...

Does the 17" version got a better screen than 15" version? I heard the 15" is a bit dimmed.
